While the primary mission of the JCBVFD is to provide emergency fire and EMS response to the residents and visitors of the area, our department is also proud to serve as an active member of the community in non-emergency situations as well.

firefighterIn 2009, the James City Bruton Farmer’s Market was opened, providing local produce vendors and craftsman a location to sell their wares. Members of the JCBVFD are also involved in several service projects throughout the year, assisting other local non-profit agencies and church groups.

The JCBVFD is also glad to assist local residents with home smoke detector checks and installations as well as fire prevention education for children and small groups. The James City Bruton Volunteer Fire Department has been proudly serving the citizens of upper James City County for over sixty years, and is excited to do so for years to come.
